Job DescriptionProvides ongoing educational assessment of children for the purpose of identifying special learningdifferences and coordinates the development of IEPs as appropriate for those students identified with specialneeds.Consults with appropriate specialist(s) regarding the support service to be rendered by such persons,including, but not limited to: speech and language pathologists, school psychologists, general educationteachers, school nurses, behavior team, etc. in sharing the responsibilities for implementing the IEP.Provides educational instruction as outlined in the IEP for identified students with exceptional needs.For students who receive general education:oCoordinates special education services with the general education program for each student withexceptional needs and monitors the implementation of the IEP.Provides consultation, resource information, and materials to general education staff regardingstudents with exceptional needs.Instructs, motivates, and effectively communicates with students.Realistically evaluates and records students academic progress and social growth on a continual basis.Revises short-term instructional objectives as appropriate, and consults with support staff specialists regardingstudents who do no demonstrate adequate progress.Maintains and completes records, individual data, reports, etc. that may be required by district, state and/orfederal policy or regulation.Conduct IEP meetings and follow all legal timelines and eligibility guidelines to maintain IEP compliance.Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to facilitate learning in an optimum environment.Organizes the educational setting effectively including non-instructional aspects of the classroom.Ability to communicate effectively by phone, email and in person.Works cooperatively with all other school district personnel, outside agencies and parents in the bestinterest of the students.Provides for the well-being and safety of all students and reacts with sensitivity to the needs and feelings ofthe student.Collaborates as an effective school team member and district team member.Maintains professional competence through in-services, classes, collaboration and dialogue and willinglyengages in meaningful professional growth activities.Utilizes and embeds technology in the learning environment to enhance learning, practice skills, expressideas, and build solutions.Utilizes district resources, infrastructure, training, and support to adapt to new technologies that cancontribute to effective learning and teaching.Stays current with new instructional techniques and technologies and their use in the classroom and iswilling to learn additional instruction strategies and technologies.Performs other duties as assigned.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
