Develops and implements strategic plans for power generation and water and gas utilities, aligning with the overall business objectives of SCE

Oversees the optimization of power generation, water and gas operations, ensuring efficiency in plant performance, reliability, and availability while minimizing downtime

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, environmental standards, safety protocols and external operational coordination key island stakeholders

Manages the budget for power generation, water and gas activities, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising operational effectiveness

Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks associated with power generation, water and gas operations, including issues related to equipment failure, supply chain disruptions, and environmental impact

Drives initiatives to promote environmental sustainability, including the adoption of renewable energy sources, emission reduction strategies, and waste management programs

Establishes key performance indicators and monitors and reports on the performance of power generation, water and gas operations, making data-driven decisions to improve overall efficiency

A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Three or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports

Experience in environmental compliance

Hydrography and or water convenance management

Experience with the California Independent System Operators (CAISO)

Strong networking capabilities, promoting cross collaboration between internal and external departments, agencies, and stakeholders.

2 years experience with FERC, DSOD, USGS and USFS compliance management

Additional Information

This position’s work mode is on-site . The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

The primary work location for this position is Big Creek. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at other generation locations.

Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/4 days a week.

Relocation does not apply to this position.
