DescriptionAccountemps is looking for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Clerk. The primary tasks of the Accounting Clerk will be assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. This fulfilling team oriented environment offers you a hands-on experience that will lead to career advancement, a great work space/office, and challenging responsibilities. This is a short-term temporary employment based in the Carlsbad, California area.Major responsibilitiesSettle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Help Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Post financial figures to journals and ledgers
Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
Work with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
RequirementsLess than one year of experience
Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized
Experience with account reconciliation
Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Bank reconciliations experience preferred
Deep understanding of account reconciliation
Demonstrated knowledge of bank statements
Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
Expertise in General Journal
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Outstanding data entry skills
Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
