Mercy San Juan Medical Center has received recognition for being a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery along with Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care Hip and Knee Replacement.ResponsibilitiesJob Details: The incumbent performs routine and complex diagnostic imaging procedures according to the written or transcribed verbal orders and within the scope of his or her certification at all imaging facilities. Provides advanced support and training for other technologists; coordinates schedules workload assignments for shift operations and procedural supply inventories. Demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate pediatric adult and geriatric patients. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs needles or syringes from storage locations (such as large stock supplies automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.Job Specific Duties:

Coordinates workload facilitates the flow of completed procedures manages staffing levels assigns priorities/responsibilities for designated shift in cooperation with clinical care areas thereby contributing to the achievement of MVBR productivity targets between above 95-102% and no more than 2-4 formal complaints per year.

Conforms to requirements in Standard III for Radiologic Technologist.

Maintains and assigns QC/QI duties to staff performs periodic audits of RIS reject analysis data base processor quality control processor cleaning and QC/QI projects. Measured by 95-98% compliance as determined by record/report review.

Assumes responsibility for implementing a training process of personnel assigned to shift. In emergency situations assumes authority and acts responsibly on behalf of the Supervisor or Manager as necessary until relieved. Effectiveness measured by no more than 1-3

Assists the Radiology-Imaging Supervisor with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting identifying problem areas and suggests solutions resulting in an equipment uptime of 95-98%.

Maintains supply and stock levels so that no more than 1-3 emergency requests for supplies are made per year.

Assists Supervisor with staff performance appraisal completion with a high level of objectivity fairness and consistency by presenting supporting data for scoring outcomes. Timeliness is such that 95-98% of all evaluations are conducted and completed by designated date.

Serves as a technical resource for the staff and physicians assuring quality of procedures and compliance with standard protocols maintaining a department repeat rate of less than 4-5%

Clears and completes procedures in RIS throughout the shift so that the Scheduled Exam Report has no more than 2 unresolved items at the end of the shift.

QualificationsRequirements:Licensure:

CA State Department of Health Service Certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)

CA Fluoroscopic Permit (within 90 days of employment)

BLS- American Heart Association

Special Skills:

Knowledge of medical terminology / anatomy.

Working knowledge of radiation-producing equipment.

Proper judgment in minimizing radiation dosages.
