Job Description

The System Test Engineer is a member of the R&D – Instrumentation and Software Test Team. The System Test Engineer has a working understanding of the Testing Life Cycle for automated systems. Under the direction of the System Test Engineer Manager, he or she assists in performing test activities and providing verification and validation of automated systems developed by the R&D team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs test activities including Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance/Stress Testing, and Automation Testing
  • Maintains Test Environments
  • Executes Test Cases
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate would possess:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox
  • Must be willing and able to learn other software programs as needed
  • Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating, and decision-making skills
  • Drive for continuous development of self, processes, procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical specifications in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking preferred.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Able to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, faxes, telephone systems, etc.

In this position, the employee will be required to work in a team environment where the noise level is usually moderate. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field
  • 1+ years of testing experience with a record of working with medium to large scale software systems
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
