Job Description

Broadridge is hiring a Junior Mechanical Engineer in our El Dorado Hills location. You will serve as member of the engineering team. In this role you will work on complex engineering and automation projects! We support print business with technical solutions for Broadridge Customer Communication across our six factory locations in the US which includes the largest digital printer in North America. Responsibilities

  • We work on factory automation projects for all of BRCC and bring them from white-board to deployment and implementation.
  • You will research and evaluate technology and participate in the establishment of mechanical design guidelines and practices.
  • You will conceive, design, develop and analyze machine designs and systems as well as development methods to improve existing designs.
  • Apply knowledge and skills acquired through a four-year mechanical engineering degree program.
  • Improve upon current designs by reducing cost and growing robustness and reliability.
  • You will communicate project status through reports, presentations and design reviews.
  • Work with vendors to source and evaluate purchased components and with manufacturing to produce or assemble manufactured components and assemblies.
  • Work effectively on teams that include electrical and firmware engineers. See projects through from concept phase to deployment.

Qualifications

  • You have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 0-4 years of work experience as a mechanical engineer or relevant internship, club, or project experience.
  • You are mechanically inclined and enjoy working on exciting projects that include mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering.
  • Depth of experience to select and integrate motors, sensors, actuators, materials, power transmission components, etc.
  • You are proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD or similar in 3D CAD programs. Some experience in creating dimensional drawings per ANSI Y14.5 standards
  • Ability to devise optimized, cost effective and reliable mechanisms
  • Adept at project organization, planning, and prioritization
  • Strong mechanical intuition and hands on approach to conceptualizing and prototyping
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Desire to take initiative
