Employment Type:Part timeShift:Rotating ShiftDescription:Reporting to the Lead Sonographer Cardiovascular, Cardiovascular Testing, this Intern position is responsible for learning and performing non-invasive cardiac and vascular exams (including Echocardiography, vascular ultrasound), providing patient care and physician assistance during the performance of those examinations/procedures, and ensuring proper documentation and clerical duties associated with the exams. The incumbent will learn to recognize abnormal results and consult with physicians to ensure correct disposition of patients and appropriate outcomes.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Completion of at least 120 hours of student clinical work in preparation to obtain ARDMS/CCI registry is required.

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.

Current cardiac credential as either Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) is required within one (1) year of completion of cardiac ultrasound program.

Current vascular registration as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) is required within two (2) years of graduation from a cardiac ultrasound program.

Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course is required. Successful completion of an Advanced Arrhythmia class is preferred.

A basic knowledge and understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and pathological processes and ultrasound physics, and the practical application of those principles is required.

Excellent customer service skills and professionalism is required.
