Position Overview:
The X-Ray Technician / CNA will play a key role in both performing diagnostic X-rays and providing essential nursing assistance to our patients. This role requires a unique blend of technical radiology skills and patient care abilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable moving between both radiology and nursing duties, providing high-quality imaging services while ensuring that patients receive compassionate and competent care.
Key Responsibilities:
Radiology Duties (X-Ray Technician):
Perform X-Ray Imaging: Conduct high-quality radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians, ensuring proper positioning and technique to produce accurate diagnostic images.
Patient Interaction: Greet and prepare patients for X-rays, explain procedures to ensure patient comfort, and assist with any questions or concerns.
Nursing Assistant Duties (CNA):
Vital Signs: Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and respiration rate.
Patient Education: Provide basic health information and education to patients regarding their care plan, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
Support Medical Team: Assist physicians during patient exams, treatments, and procedures. Help with patient positioning, preparation, and documentation.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.
Licensing/Certification:
Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Experience:
At least 1-2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician and CNA. Prior experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of radiologic techniques and equipment operation.
Proficiency in basic nursing tasks, including taking vitals, patient mobility assistance, and patient education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
Attention to detail and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
