Bookkeeper

Description We are seeking a meticulous accountant to join our team. This role is within the bookkeeping industry and offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, and meeting regulatory compliance standards. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the daily operations within the accounting department Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and reconciliations Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, adhering to all applicable tax laws and regulations Conduct tax research and planning to optimize tax liabilities and support business decisions Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support strategic planning Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Provide guidance and support to entry level accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment Stay updated with changes in accounting and tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) Expertise in Bank Reconciliations Previous experience in Bookkeeping Ability to perform Data Entry tasks Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience in Month End Close activities Knowledge in handling Payroll Proficiency in using QuickBooks software Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
