Seeking IHSS Caregiver for 88-year-old stroke patient (Riverside, Woodcrest)
We are seeking a compassionate and patient female caregiver to assist our 88-year-old mother, who is bedbound due to a stroke. The position is located in our home in Woodcrest, Riverside (near King and Van Buren), from 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Thursday (although working Friday as well is possible for the right candidate). We can be flexible on the end time but the start time must be 7am.
Responsibilities:
Assist with personal hygiene (diapers, personal grooming, and dressing).
Provide meal assistance (no cooking; reheating or serving prepared meals).
Perform light housekeeping (laundry, tidying her room and bathroom).
Assist CNA twice a week with showering.
Skills and Qualifications:
Must be registered with IHSS
Must speak English fluently and possess a kind and patient demeanor.
Ability to treat the client with dignity and respect.
Physically capable of assisting patient to roll and sit up (client weighs 120 pounds).
Must be punctual
Transportation:
Reliable transportation to/from work is required (not on a bus line).
No driving is needed during the shift.
Additional Notes:
Our home has three very large dogs so this position would not be ideal for candidates with pet allergies.
