DescriptionAccountemps is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. Candidates who are looking for great career growth potential and a great benefits package will be interested in joining this quickly growing accounting team. A successful candidate for this position will be ready to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. The strongest candidates for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position will be self-starters with high attention to detail, ready to handle 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Lathrop, California area.Your responsibilities in this role
Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization
Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
Process payments and compile segments of annual reports and monthly closings in compliance with GAAP
Offer information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers
Test documents and codes
Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
Requirements
Efficient in ERP systems
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
1+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Cash Balance experience required
Strong familiarity with 10 Key
Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
