The Ombudsperson functions with a high degree of independence and latitude regarding methods and decisions. Referrals may come to the Ombudsperson through the Manager, Patient Accounting or directly from any member of the PFS Management Team, from executive staff of Cedars-Sinai Health System, from departments throughout Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and from the physician community, payors, and billing agencies. The Ombudsperson is able to interact with customers with diverse cultural backgrounds and is attentive to meetings customers' needs consistent with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan. The Ombudsperson contributes to quality improvement efforts bringing to attention findings that indicate needed corrective actions and, where possible, recommending changes in policy, process, and practice.Requirements:High school diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred.

A minimum of 10 years of hospital business office experience, specializing in admissions, financial screening, insurance verification, billing and collections required.

Customer service experience is highly preferred.
