Description A leading private equity firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing Tax team. This role involves managing tax-related matters for active funds, collaborating with external tax advisors, and ensuring compliance with changing tax laws and regulations. The individual will be responsible for managing investor inquiries and providing support during annual financial statement audits.Responsibilities:

Manage external service providers during the annual federal and state tax compliance process for active funds from start to finish. Review tax returns, K-1s and tax estimates prepared by external tax advisor for reasonableness.

Manage investor inquiries, confirmations and information requests. Maintain relevant knowledge of tax related matters and monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Collaborate with VP of Finance, external tax advisors and fund administrators to ensure appropriate consideration and recognition of any tax impacts on the Fund GAAP accounting, including deferred tax liability/asset calculations for blockers.

Provide support during the annual financial statement audits and any audits/reviews by tax authorities.

Participate in tax due diligence and structuring calls for potential acquisitions with legal counsel and external tax advisors.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Prior Partnership flow-through tax compliance experience required, preferable from Big 4 and CPA.

Five to six years of relevant experience, preferably within private equity or alternative investments industry, including experience with preparing partnership book/tax allocations including incentive fee re-allocation, and transfers of partnership interests.

Strong aptitude for numbers and accuracy

Ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize, multi-task and drive multiple end-to end projects simultaneously.

Strong managerial, organizational, project management and verbal/written communication skills.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
