Responsibilities:

Sets up line for each shift ensuring quality and adequate supplies of food, utensils, wiping cloths, fills and tests sani-buckets, and maintains clean floor.

Checks and records food temperatures and maintains hot and cold temperatures throughout shift.

Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.

Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

Cleans, restocks, and organizes the station for the next shift making note of any shortages or quality issues.

Maintains spotless area including refrigerators.

Tastes food for quality control with tasting spoons.

Requirements:

At least one year of cooking experience

Excellent kitchen food safety and sanitation knowledge and ability to work as part of a team

Strong organization and active listening skills

The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 50 pounds at a time

Exceptional time management skill

Desire to learn all stations and to teach and train new team members when they come onboard.

Ability to read recipes and be mindful of food waste and scheduled hours.

Ability to ask for help when needed

Desire to be helpful and jump in where needed.

Ability and desire to maintain time temperature records to avoid abuse of foods

Practices frequent handwashing and encourages others to do the same

Always wears food protection gloves when handling ready-to-eat food that will not be cooked.

Maintains strict and accurate portion control

Takes pride in producing quality food in taste, texture and appearance.
