We are currently hiring LINE COOKS to start immediately at our new Pasadena & Chinatown locations! At HOWLIN', you'll not only be crafting and serving up the BEST hot chicken west of the Mississippi, but you’ll also be joining a crew that is unmatched in its work ethic, passion for hospitality, and family values. We provide a safe and positive work environment, as the mission is to inspire enthusiasm and pride for the work that we do! We are closed for all major holidays, we are closed 2 consecutive days (Monday & Tuesday) per week so everyone gets 2 days off in a row and we operate for limited hours so nobody has to do super early mornings or super late nights. We work hard, but we try to do it right. Our leadership team's main goal is to provide our crew members with all of the tools they need to be healthy and successful at work and at home as it's all equally important to establishing & maintaining a great quality of life.

Our Pasadena location has staff parking in our private parking lot as well as ample street & assigned lot parking in close proximity to our shop! We are also located within walking distance of the Metro gold line Fillmore Station.
Our Chinatown location is inside the FAR EAST PLAZA in Chinatown, LA. Multiple parking lots are nearby and underground parking is available (via hill street plaza entrance), we are also located within walking distance of the gold line drop.
THE JOB:
- specific role in preparing & assembling food/dishes to order during service
- participate in a collective team effort to uphold the HOWLIN' STANDARD
- mise set up, cleaning/breaking down, and organizing workstations after service
- understanding and maintaining all company hygienic standards as well as complying with all standards & practices according to Food Safety Guidelines. (we can set you up with the required online course and certificate if you need)
- ability to maintain a clean workstation area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves before, during & after service
- ability to remain cool & collected under pressure & work well within a team dynamic
- ability to cordially interact with guests and others within the work environment at all times
- reliable modes of transportation and the ability to arrive on time are a must

- HOWLIN' LINE COOKS start at an hourly rate of $18-20 per hour + TIPS & performance-based INCENTIVES & BONUSES

THE (OTHER STUFF) RUNDOWN:
- no need to have a fancy restaurant pedigree or tons of years of experience to join our crew, we are simply looking for good people who want to learn new things, take good care of folks, and help us to share our love of hot chicken with the world.
- the ability to function (or have a strong willingness to learn how to) in a fast-paced, high-energy environment will set you up for success at HOWLIN'
- time management, multitasking & task prioritization is KEY

- most shifts will be about 8 hrs and you will be on your feet for most if not all of that time (obvi not during breaks)
- you will potentially need to stock and organize product deliveries, some of which will require approx 50 lbs lifting
- ultimately the most important qualities we are seeking in candidates are reliability, integrity & respect. the team is relying on you to show up each day with a clear mind and a well-nourished body, ready to get the day started on the right foot!
- ideal candidates will possess the ability to perform tasks with a sense of urgency while keeping a keen eye on attention to detail, at HOWLIN' we are ALL ABOUT THE LITTLE THINGS!
- flexibility to work evenings, mornings & weekends preferred, but if you gotta specific set of days & times you can work, let us know and we will see what we can do!
