Position: Prep Cook

Position Type: Full-time / Part time (as available)

Hourly, Non-Exempt Role

Reports to: Head Chef, Sous Chef

Job Summary:

The Prep Cook will assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in preparing ingredients and performing basic cooking tasks in preparation for the restaurant's service. The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for culinary arts, has previous experience in a professional kitchen, and is committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and grains for cooking

● Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality of food

● Measure and mix ingredients for recipes

● Prepare stocks, soups, and sauces as directed by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef

● Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies

● Ensure that food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner

● Ensure all food items are properly labeled and stored at appropriate temperatures

● Follow all safety and sanitation procedures when handling food and equipment

● Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including daily cleaning and sanitizing of workstations and equipment

● Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed

● Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff and other kitchen team members

● Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

● 1+ years of experience as a prep cook or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen

● Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

● Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately

● Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

● Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food preparation and service

● Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

● Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
