I am a touring classical musician, composer, and filmmaker currently running small publishing and production companies, and I'm in need of a proactive and reliable professional to help with operations. This would be an excellent position for a blossoming musician hoping to learn about the industry or an intrigued and enthusiastic individual in search of a part-time job with flexible work hours.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- Terrific written and verbal communication skills
- Over-the-top organizational abilities
- A laptop and technological expertise
- A can-do, positive attitude, and a personal drive to figure things out
- A desire to learn about the music industry
EXAMPLE TASKS:
- Manage social media accounts: strategize, help write and create posts, respond to fans
- Maintain Squarespace websites: update tour information, post new scores and albums, craft blog posts
- Manage merchandise: track merchandise sales and income, reorder as necessary, prepare shipments for tours and music dealers
- Complete various forms on ASCAP website (American Society of Composers and Publishers)
- Draft tour emails
- Scan and file documents, update Excel spreadsheets, restock office supplies
- Help coordinate music video shoots: communicate with locations/venues, research and acquire equipment and props, scout and hire contractors, assist while filming, etc.
JOB STATS:
- Looking for immediate start
- Approximately 15 hours a week. Much of the work can be accomplished remotely, though the ratio (remote vs. in-person) may vary week to week; about 50/50 on average.
- Flexible work hours. We can coordinate times that work for both of us. Evenings or weekends are possibilities.
- $20-$25 per hour, though negotiable after six months and/or experience
