We have a great opportunity for Armed Security Professionalsat train station platforms.Our pay-rate for armed guards is $27.58/hr. Guards can be assigned to stations in Hollywood, North Hollywood, the San Gabriel Valley, and East LA. This is a great opportunity for guards with prior military experience, professional goals in law enforcement and other similar positions, or want to have a positive impact in their community. Armed Guards must :
Possess valid BSIS guard card, firearm permit, and baton permitbefore receiving a post assignment
all must be physical permits that match 100%to a valid in-state driver's license/ID (name AND address).
Must also be handcuff, pepper spray, and first-aid certified before receiving an assignment, but SPs will be trained during our (paid) training program.
Pass a background screening and pre-employment drug test as permitted by law.
Metro's training program can take 2-4 weeks to complete, where guards will learn about:
Metro's policies, firearm safety test, what they can expect in the field, and build confidence in their abilities to conduct job duties.
This position can be physically and mentally demanding, requiring officers to be comfortable with stairs, standing/walking for 8+ hours, making arrests/going hands-on, deescalating situations in the public eye, dealing with aggressive behaviors or intoxicated individuals, and more.
Similarly, guards must be customer service oriented, becoming a vital part of the community's safety and Metro operations!
