Summary: Port Driver Dispatcher is responsible for planning their night to ensure the shift is completed accordingly to what work they have for the night. Their responsible to turnover any vital information to the day side so our operations continue to run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage port driver operations during the night shift.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Communicate with drivers and team members to ensure smooth logistics.
- Create necessary reflection reports to turnover for the following shift.
- Handle any issues or emergencies that arise during the shift.
- Track, trace and report container activity.
- Records and audits all documents for equipment tracking.
- Assists Customer Service and other office personnel in handling day to day duties required by management.
- Process and complete all documentation assigned in a timely manner.
- Communicate company policies and procedures to company drivers, monitor performance against standards, and recommend corrective action to management.
- Update relevant systems to track appointments and drays
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in port, rail, or trucking operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Long Beach ports and Emodal appointments is a plus.
- Bilingual speakers is important (English and Spanish)
