Male quadriplegic requires reliable daily assistance with personal care and domestic care. Work 4 days on and have 4 days off. However, under rare circumstances, caregiver must be able to work and be available up to 14 days straight due to illness of the other caregiver, for example. But in the long run, it's worth it if a caregiver enjoys working repeat 4 days and then having 4 days off.
Total monthly hours will be shared with 2 caregivers only. Typical hours work: 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m; 12:30 noon to 2:30 p.m; 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Some Days, However, schedule may change due to situational needs.
Understanding situational days. Caregiver may work more hours on one day due to doctor's appointment, shopping, cooking, personal care, etc. but will work less on other days which makes up the balance of the hours.
Personal care: must be willing to learn to do the bowel program and cathing, leg stretches, moving client in and out of bed, shower, grooming, etc.
Domestic services: shopping, cooking, cleaning sweeping, dusting, vacuuming etc.
If applicant is not registered with IHSS, they will have to do so. One-time registration application is $35-$45.
