Job Title: Service Technician
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Service Technician with experience in repairing commercial automotive equipment and a background in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial vehicles and equipment used in construction.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in commercial vehicles such as trucks, trailers, and specialized construction equipment.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks and services on commercial vehicles to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Equipment Testing: Conduct functional tests on repaired vehicles and equipment to ensure they operate correctly and comply with safety standards.
Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor time, and work performed.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to explain repairs and maintenance needed, providing professional and courteous customer service.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and protocols while working on vehicles and equipment, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company policies.
Parts Management: Order and manage inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest advancements in commercial automotive and construction equipment technology and participate in ongoing training programs.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in commercial automotive equipment repair
Knowledge in
Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in commercial vehicles and construction equipment.
Education: Technical diploma or certification in a related field such as Diesel Technology, Automotive Repair, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a similar discipline.
Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts and equipment.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients and team members.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
Computer Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools specific to commercial automotive and construction equipment. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Certifications: Additional certifications related to commercial automotive repair (e.g., ASE Certification) are an advantage.
Adaptability: Ability to work in diverse environments and adapt to different weather conditions and job site challenges.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Working Conditions:
Environment: Work primarily takes place in workshops, commercial automotive service centers, and various job sites, including outdoor construction environments.
Hours: Full-time position with potential for overtime based on project requirements and equipment availability.
