Jacobs is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team at NASA Ames Research Center. In this part-time role, you will provide critical support to the materials labs of the TSM (Thermo Protection Materials) Branch by ensuring the accuracy and functionality of laboratory equipment and maintaining compliance with hazardous chemical regulations.Responsibilities: Ensure routine calibrations are performed on laboratory instrumentation through our calibration vendor. Maintain accurate and up-to-date calibration records for all assigned equipment. Assist with the development and implementation of new calibration procedures. Participate in laboratory audits to ensure compliance with hazardous chemical regulations. Maintain a safe and organized work environment within the laboratories. Assist lab personnel with technical inquiries and troubleshooting related to instrumentation. There may be other opportunities to support the lab, such as working on test hardware.Environment: You will be working in labs that develop and produce heat shield materials as well as design and implement heat shield instrumentation within material test articles. These labs are currently supporting NASA’s missions to Mars and the Moon.Qualifications: Currently a college student pursuing a degree. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
