FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Location: Buena Park, CA. 90621 (Primary Warehouse Site)

Days & Hours: Monday thru Saturday or Sunday thru Friday (6 days per week), 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistical Technician Assistant serves as the primary operational point of contact between COMPANY and key warehouse personnel. This role supports daily logistics activities by receiving all Bills of Lading (BOLs) and/or Air Waybills (AWBs), verifying freight accuracy, coordinating order assignments, and assisting internal technicians and contracted carriers throughout the loading, documentation, and safety process.

The Logistical Technician Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and safe operations supporting our Local/Regional LTL trucking services and Box Truck Authorized Agent operations for freight forwarders / Indirect Air Carriers (IACs).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Freight Intake & Documentation

- Receive all Bills of Lading (BOLs) and Air Waybills (AWBs) from warehouse staff.

- Verify the presence, count, and condition of all cargo and pallets listed on documentation.

- Report discrepancies immediately to warehouse leadership and the Director of Logistical Solutions.

- Assign cargo identifiers and carrier identifiers to each load.

- Assist drivers and technicians with completing and submitting required paperwork and digital forms.

OPERATIONAL COORDINATION

- Serve as the daily point of contact between Caring 4 America LLC and warehouse operational teams.

- Assign orders to Logistical Technician I, Logistical Technician II, and approved owner-operators/non-employee carriers.

- Guide personnel to their designated loading areas and confirm proper load handling procedures.

- Ensure cargo is staged correctly for efficient and safe loading.

- Provide direction and support to drivers and carriers unfamiliar with procedures.

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE SUPPORT

- Inspect company-owned vehicles for basic safety compliance (tires, lights, fluids, damage, etc.).

- Issue high-visibility vests to individuals who do not have proper PPE.

- Maintain and monitor ramps, docks, and walkways to ensure they are free from debris and hazards.

- Support adherence to IAC, STA, TWIC, DOT, and warehouse safety requirements.

DATA ENTRY & ADMINISGTRATIVE DUTIES

- Perform accurate data entry for incoming orders, load assignments, cargo identifiers, and exceptions.

- Maintain real-time logs for operational tracking and reporting.

- Update dispatch systems, spreadsheets, and internal tracking tools as required.

- Assist with daily operational summaries and performance reporting.

WAREHOUSE SUPPORT

- Keep the work area organized, clean, and safe for all users.

- Assist technicians and carriers in locating assigned cargo and verifying documentation.

- Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline warehouse flow and communication.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with warehouse partners, drivers, and contractors.

- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, and shipment documentation.

- Basic computer skills and proficiency in data entry.

- Ability to push, pull and or lift up to 50 lbs and work in fast-paced warehouse environments.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or GED.

- 1+ year experience in logistics, warehousing, delivery operations, or freight handling.

- Experience with LTL operations, last-mile delivery, or IAC/airport freight operations.

- Familiarity with STA/TWIC requirements.

- Experience coordinating with owner-operators or subcontracted carriers.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
