Career Strategies is currently seeking skilled and experienced Grounds/Maintenance Technicians in the Palm Springs, CA area and surrounding cities for temporary and temp-to-hire opportunities.
The Grounds/Maintenance staff will be responsible for completing work orders, turning vacant units and other required tasks such as ensuring the overall cleanliness of assigned work areas, including common spaces such as the clubhouse, amenities, apartments and leasing offices.
Positions also available in the Coachella Valley, San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire
Responsibilities:
- At least 6 months Maintenance Experience in the following tasks:
- Make Readies / Apartment Turns
- Plumbing: sink/shower/toilet repair, replacing fixtures, unclogging drains (snaking when applicable)
- Electrical: replacing fixtures and switches/outlets
- Carpentry: patching holes, replacing doors/locks, hanging cabinetry, light touch-up painting
- Appliances: help with installation of W&D, stoves (when applicable), installing garbage disposals, small repairs
- Technician should be courteous to residents and provide realistic expectations for completed service requests/work
orders
- Report missing/needed parts to Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager (as instructed)
- Clean common areas (clubhouse, fitness center, mail room, leasing office, hallways, restrooms, meeting room, pool
area)
- Clean vacant apartments for move-in ready condition
- Clean and keep up appearance of model apartment homes
- Maintain, inventory and organize supplies
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, rug cleaners, polishers
- Handle cleaning supplies, chemicals, solvents
- Dust, mop, sanitize counters / sinks, windows, fixtures, restock supplies, replace bulbs, empty trash, mirrors
Qualifications:
- At least 6 months Maintenance Experience in Residential Maintenance - Apartments, Hotels or Private Homes
- General knowledge of ALL aspects of maintenance repair, drywall repair plumbing, electrical, and all appliance care
- Must have personal hand tools and drill - bring to site daily; do not leave at property
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to travel up to 15-25 miles a day
- Ability to communicate well and work in a team/solo environment
- HVAC, EPA, or CFC Certification a plus
- Bilingual is not required, but definitely a PLUS
