Please review the job details below.Maxar is seeking a Configuration and Data Management Specialist who will manage the Configuration Management (CM) and the Data Management (DM) activities for a program or project, taking responsibility for resources, tools, processes, training and budgets inputs, and ensuring the delivery of a coordinated Configuration Management and Data Management approach across the entire product lifecycle.Configuration Management Key Responsibilities:

Complete a range of Configuration and Documentation tasks within the committed cost, schedule, performance and quality

Participates in the analysis of contractual requirements for Configuration Management, prepares cost and time estimates during the bid and major project phases, and identifies associated risks.

Implements the Configuration Management system for the project/product

Provide technical leadership for CM activities to the program teams, as well as functional management

Establishes CM baselines for each major design and manufacturing phases in support of As Built vs. As Designed verification activities and reporting

Ensures consistency of information in the configuration management system for the project / product

Maintain and develop CM Processes and Procedures to ensure best team practice application

Liaise with Engineering Disciplines to ensure consistency on CM practices and effective use of tools

Identify and Recommend appropriate CM Training for Space Infrastructure Team Manage and maintain cost-effective data management practices in line with company guidelines

Manage the implementation of the PLM system for configuration management of the project/product

This includes analysis of requirements, system configuration, customization, data loading and end-user training

Liaises Space Infrastructure personnel involved in the project as well as with subcontractors/suppliers regarding project CM related issues

Provides technical leadership to resolve configuration management issues during product and project lifecycles

Collaborates with all stakeholders, both locally and across countries/business units

Provides leadership to drive organizational change. In particular, partners with the engineering departments to provide advice and guidance for the adoption of new processes

Contribute in improvement initiatives of CM procedures and tools.

Data Management Key Responsibilities:

Planning, organizing and controlling documentation activities undertaken by the Documentation Team in accordance with internal and/or customer requirements and standards

Delivery of all documentation produced on time and within budget, in accordance with all client and contractual requirements

Liaison with client organizations with respect to the progress of documentation tasks and any potential problems and solutions

Archiving of all documentation generated

Development and maintenance of documentation standards as required

Coordinating and implementing US government export compliant practices in the area of documentation writing, production and handling

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience OR a Master’s degree and 6 years’ experience

Experience of the full design lifecycle, concept to disposal.

Knowledge on Configuration Management processes, techniques and tools.

Be familiar with international standards.

Good practical experience implementing and administering PLM system (TeamCenter)

Experience of software and hardware CM and development processes

Experience in a leadership role, as well as being a team player, with strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Knowledge of DOORS, JIRA, SAP/OCM would be an advantage

Good written and verbal communication skills to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams
