Sr. Software Engineer Our direct client is one of the largest food and drug retailers with 2,300+ stores. Includes some of the most prominent brands in food retailing, with a growing base of loyal shoppers. They are currently in urgent need of a Sr. Software Engineer This is a 6 to 12 Months Contract role. The position is remote for now till Covid. Post-Covid, it will be onsite at Pleasanton, CA Position logistics: Job Title: Sr. Developer Location: Pleasanton, CA Duration: 6-12 months Job Description: Sr. Software Engineer Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high-availability and performance
- Convert abstract business ideas into technical architectures, designs, and implementations.
- Work with Solutions Architect and other IT and business groups to implement a quality and stable platform solution.
- Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Develop and publish Developer guide to mentor and guide development team members
- Develop and Deploy applications using organization's technology practices, standards and procedures
- Research marketplace for programming trends when required and work with development practices team to standardize them for the project or team use.
- Analyze business processes, fit-gap analysis, inefficiencies and risks to determine appropriate process and system design.
- Optimize and streamline business process with technical solutions.
- 7+ years of hands-on programming and integration experience (Java,J2EE/Spring, REST APIs)
- Four (4) years of experience in designing and developing Microservices applying Reactive patterns
- Four (4) years of experience in developing and designing solutions for high traffic/high volume in consumer facing industry domains.
- 3+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is required.
- 2+ Experience in No-SQL and in-memory DB (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) is strongly preferred.
- 2+ Experience in Microsoft Azure, Pivotal, DevOps and CI/CD tools and processes is strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud platform services and application development using Microsoft Azure.
- 3+ Experience in high-performance and high-frequency data streaming (using Kafka, Storm etc.) and handling large volume of batch data (using Spark) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in the e-commerce domain, with deep understanding of product search and browse, catalog and master data management, pertaining to Retail/Grocery industry is preferred.
- Experience in Jira, Confluence is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices.
- Strong emphasis on Testing, Quality and Automation
- Strong organization skills with good interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Strong experience building consumer facing solutions and building applications on the public cloud.
- Deep knowledge of scalability, security and maintainability of high-volume Internet applications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently.
