This position is located at the Northrop Grumman Corporation Space Park facility located in Redondo Beach, California. A successful candidate must be able to implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of the databases. They will also be responsible for installing and patching Oracle database software. Other responsibilities will include conducting performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviewing database design and integration of systems. Designing and implementing backup and recovery procedures. Making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements to the database environment. Maintaining security and integrity controls. Formulating policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitoring transaction activity and utilization. They may also develop stored procedures and/or triggers.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of related experience; Master's Degree with 8 years of related experience; or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge and expertise with MS Access, MySQL and Oracle
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)
  • Oracle Database Administration skills
    • Oracle 19 and Multi-tenant architecture
    • Understand Oracle Database Architecture
    • Oracle Server installation/upgrade/maintenance
    • Backup/Restore with RMAN
    • Data guard installation, configuration, and management
    • Flashback Database
    • Data Pump
  • Able to develop Shell scripts with PL/SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • Knowledge and expertise in VBA and PERL programming
  • System Administration skills
  • Network knowledge, LAN, VLAN
  • Application of patches including the Quarterly Security Patches
