DescriptionIf you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, there's currently an opening through Accountemps for Staff Accountant at a growing Financial Services firm. This exciting short term temporary-to-full time opportunity is set in an engaging workplace where hard work is rewarded. The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A great deal of time in this position will be spent producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you'll also be charged with various aspects of internal reporting. You will also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, play an active role in compliance, and review schedules for the reporting processes.Major responsibilities
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Partake in annual closing processes
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Comprehensive knowledge of accounts receivable
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
