Reporting into a team in the Supply Chain organization, the Power Platform Architect will be working closely across the entire matrix of divisions and functions. You will be responsible for helping to manage our data analytics team’s IT infrastructure to meet top level business objectives and facilitate an environment of efficient administrative operations.Key Responsibilities:Design & Development· Build solutions to supply chain challenges and to enable the analytics team to operationalize opportunities.· Evaluate, standardize and launch first pass analytical approaches that drive optimization in workflows and metrics to enable our organization to be more productive with their time and efforts.· Work with a SQL database to make large data sets available to an extended team for design and dissemination canned analytics.· Participate in business process design activities to ensure that decision support tools are used effectively in the context of core business processesAnalysis and Reporting· Ensure that performance reporting is packaged such that users may cascade from global division to SKU/location to facilitate trended analyses and root cause counter measure actions.· Challenge current analytical constructs by benchmarking best-in-class companies and academic research to ensure our supply chain team is applying the most appropriate algorithms in a practical manner to deliver results.· Administer the regular reporting of a supply chain data analytics program dashboard, providing management with access to key performance metrics throughout the global supply chain organization.Infrastructure Management· Maintain high uptime performance of team servers and applications.· Expectation that continuous improvement focuses around user experience and opportunity funnels· Assess system performance and aim to maximize ROI· Manage IT related projects to expand team system capabilities.· Prepare reports for program directorsTraining & Development· As needed, coach and mentor the supply chain organization about how to most productively utilize the Power Platform.· Contribute to large IT projects by educating teammates about the Group’s IT infrastructure and the manner in which information is used to inform decision-making processes.· Understand, master and often teach how to effectively use Power Platform tools to visualize and analyze data.· Develop redundancy in critical skills within the infrastructure team as well as in the larger organization to strengthen our business continuity.Requirements/Qualifications:· 10+ years relative experience.· Strong IT experience required· Ability to communicate effectively with peers worldwide.· Strong analytical skills, detail and process oriented.· Effective writing skills.· Good follow-up skills.· Mastery of Data Modeling on complex datasources (unstructured and structured) required.· Mastery of Power Platform Datasets and Data Flows required.· Must have strong working knowledge of DAX, M query, Power Gateway setup & management, and SQL.· Additional preferred working knowledge of Dashboards, Workspaces, Power BI Reports, PowerApps, Power Automate, custom connectors, API integrations, SQL Server, and/or AWS.· Self-motivated with minimum direct supervision requirements.· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or science related field.Job Specific Duties:· Design, develop, maintain, and support a Power Platform architecture that runs in parallel with an existing application/analytics architecture.· Design, develop, and maintain the data refresh schedule and plan for the Power Platform datasets.· Build prototypes and small-scale applications to provide working examples of business logic.· Develop, enhance, and maintain Power Platform applications, and handle backend development procedures while coaching on frontend design.· Design, configure, develop, and implement enhancements and production fixes to existing systems.· Develop and implement new systems and ensure that their configuration is properly handled.· Use development best practices, and appropriate patterns to develop required software solutions.· Create Power Gateways and Power connections to actively mitigate potential security gaps.· Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and guides.· Formulate and define system scope and objectives, based on the individual needs of each user.· Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and ensure that technical knowledge of all phases of application systems is maintained.· Perform thorough analysis and design, and diligent testing to ensure optimal performance of all Power Platform assets.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 100,000+ extraordinary minds have a unique story to tell.
