CEA is looking to hire a part-time experienced instructional design professional with a background in design and training for up to 20 hours per week. This role will include developing design templates for onsite trainings, webinars and virtual meetings that cover essential skills, compliance and leadership for employers in CA. You will also have the opportunity to deliver training and help employers tackle challenges and build stronger workplaces.

Whether you’re an experienced or retired instructional designer, or simply someone who prefers meaningful part-time work over the 9-to-5 grind, this opportunity offers flexibility, impact, and balance. This position begins as a hybrid role during the training period, transitioning to a primarily remote role with travel as needed.

In this role, you will:

 Design dynamic and engaging compliance and leadership courses: Sample of training topics include Wage and Hour, Harassment Prevention, Leaves of Absence, Coaching to Success, Conflict Management, and Effective Communication  Collaborate with subject-matter experts within CEA through the content development lifecycle  Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver training as needed

 Review and update existing learning materials for accuracy and impact  Stay current with trends in instructional design, learning technologies, research and print solutions.

Qualifications:

 5+ years of experience designing virtual and in person learning materials

 5+ years of experience with facilitation and presentation skills both on site and virtual

 Exceptional communication skills

 Proficiency in Canva and PowerPoint

 Strong understanding of adult learning principles, ADDIE or other instructional design models

 Knowledge of evaluation and assessment methods to measure learning outcomes.

 Ability to create animation and visuals that transform concepts into visuals that captivate, inspire, and stay memorable

Preferred:

 Familiarity exploring ways to leverage AI technology to enhance learning experiences and instructional design  Ability to explore instructional design methodologies aimed at addressing the needs of today’s learners

 Develops assessments (e.g. tests, quizzes, etc.) to measure learning effectiveness  Skilled in designing microlearning, web-based training, and both virtual and in-person instructor-led training, including instructor guides and interactive content  Experience working on eLearning courses using graphics and narrations  Marketing experience a plus

The salary range for this part time position is $45.00 to 50.00 per hour with generous sick leave and a 401k plan with a 4% match!
