Earn while you learn a specialized trade in the HVAC industry. We specialize in Test and Balance of commercial HVAC equipment and are looking for someone who is motivated, hard working and possesses a good understanding of math and science.
Testing and Balancing covers broadly Air and Water HVAC systems. Air Balancing (the majority of our work) is the assessment and adjustment of air flow systems which includes adjusting total air flow of a fan as well as individual flows measured at each vent the fan serves. Although this may sounds simple it can be difficult to troubleshoot if you do not generally understand basic algebra and physics which is why having a good understanding of math and science is important.
This is a career that pays well and is always in demand. For example, all hospitals require annual Air Balance certification reports in order to maintain compliance. All new construction or alteration projects with HVAC equipment require a certified balance report as well.
Having a background in HVAC service is a great foundation for this role, however, experience is not required.
80% of our work is indoors within a conditioned space (heated and cooled) with the remaining being roof work or outside in general testing and adjusting HVAC equipment.
A lot of driving is required as we cover all of Northern California, however, we will do our best to keep you on projects closest to your home. From Sacramento most, but not all, projects are within a 1.5 hour drive each way. You’ll be paid for all driving after the first hour of travel, each way.
Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check for government work.
