We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck and Equipment Mechanic to join our telecom construction team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, problem-solving professional responsible for the maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment fleet, ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and light repairs on a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.
Work with management to ensure vehicle scheduling and maintenance stays on track.
Order parts and draft purchase orders to acquire necessary materials.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
Perform small-scale welding and metal fabrication as needed.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions to perform onsite repairs.
Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of experience as a truck or heavy equipment mechanic.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Welding experience is preferred for minor repairs and fabrication.
Must own a complete set of hand tools. The company will provide specialized tools.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
Willingness to work outdoors in various environmental conditions.
Must have acceptable driving record and be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), which the company will fund.
