We are looking for an experienced caregiver for our cousin, Katie. This will be a full time live in position, six days per week with one day off. Your duties will be to get Katie up in the morning, get her dressed for the day, and prepare her breakfast. You will also need to prepare her lunch, dinner, and do her laundry. She spends most of her day in a wheelchair and loves any opportunity to get out of the house. You would be expected to spend a little time with her each day and give her a shower two or three times per week. She needs help getting in and out of bed, on and off of the toilet and uses Depends all of the time. You must have a car and be willing to take her to occasional medical appointments or other activities.
Katie is 83 years old and is mentally and speech challenged. She has a very sweet, agreeable disposition and enjoys her activities; coloring, working with beads, watching television and hanging out with her little dog, Midnight.
A two bedroom furnished apartment is provided, although if you wish to use some of your own things, that can also be arranged. Utilities, phone, cable and internet are included as well as an allotment for Katie’s food and any personal items which she may need. In addition to these amenities, a salary is also included.
