Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, contracts, and agreements
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain case files, including indexing and filing documents
- Prepare and draft correspondence, memos, and other legal documents
- Schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances for attorneys
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
- Assist in the preparation of trial materials and exhibits
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a paralegal assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
- Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures
- Strong interviewing skills to gather information from clients and witnesses
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and document organization
- Experience with document management systems such as iManage or similar software
- Ability to transcribe legal documents accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of law terminology and legal principles
