Lead Framer / Lead Carpenter

Pay Range: $35–$45 per hour (DOE)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Projects: ADUs, Residential Remodels, Small Multi-Family Construction

Location: San Diego County

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Framer / Lead Carpenter to run framing operations on ADUs, residential remodels, and small multi-family projects. This role requires strong hands-on framing skills, leadership in the field, and the ability to execute plans efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.

This is a working lead position—you will frame alongside the crew while coordinating daily tasks, ensuring code compliance, and maintaining jobsite quality and safety.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead and execute wood framing for:

ADUs

Residential remodels

Small multi-family buildings

Read and interpret plans, details, and structural notes

Layout and frame:

Foundations and sill plates

Floors, walls, and roofs

Shear walls, hold-downs, and Simpson hardware

Coordinate daily crew tasks and maintain productivity

Ensure framing passes city inspections

Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites

Communicate progress and issues with the Superintendent / PM

Perform punch-list framing corrections as needed

Additional Skills (Strongly Preferred)

Candidates with the following skills will be prioritized:

Window installation (new construction & retrofit)

Exterior door installation

Interior door installation (prehung, hardware, alignment)

Cabinet installation

General finish carpentry, including:

Trim

Baseboards

Blocking and backing

Minor corrections and detailing

Experience with remodel tie-ins and existing structures

Qualifications

5+ years of framing experience (lead experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of California residential building codes

Ability to lead and motivate a small crew

Skilled with framing tools and equipment

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all typical construction conditions

Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Compensation & Benefits
