We set audacious goals and are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Reader Analytics team and help us reach and exceed them.We are seeking an analytical, results-oriented, and customer-focused Business Intelligence Engineer to develop business metrics and generate insights that will inform our strategy and user experience. In this role, you will lead complex data initiatives and high-visibility projects, provide actionable insights, and partner with senior stakeholders across the Kindle Experience organization to set the direction for Kindle's data-driven initiatives. Your insights and solutions will drive key decisions affecting millions of readers worldwide.Key job responsibilities
Analyze complex data to tell the story of business trends and performance patterns, and outliers through clear documentation and rich visualizations
Build solutions and data visualizations to effectively communicate business trends and performance patterns
Lead complex, high-impact data analysis projects to identify opportunities for product and business improvements
Write high-quality, optimized SQL to retrieve and analyze data from relational databases (e.g., Redshift, MySQL, S3)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement ETL data pipelines for processing billions of records
Create user-friendly, repeatable reporting solutions and self-service dashboards to minimize ad hoc requests
Define and develop business-critical metrics, reports, and key performance indicators
Drive seamless data reporting and insights to enable data-backed decision-making in MBRs/QBRs/OP1 discussions

Work with stakeholders to understand and design analytical solutions on major projects
Seek opportunities to streamline existing process and automate for efficiency
Attend team standup to go over existing development, blockers and help troubleshoot issues
Continue to adopt new technologies that benefit business
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)
Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis

The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
