They focus on unique commodities and carbon credits and structure themselves like a hedge fund.They are looking for a controller to join the team.Responsibilities include:

Conduct monthly reporting and NAV reconciliation; review accounting from external providers.

Financial Operations: Manage accounting, performance reporting, and financial operations for investment funds and the management company.

Collaboration: Partner with investment, trading, and compliance teams to develop and implement portfolio monitoring, financial optimization strategies, policies, and procedures.

Tax Accounting: Oversee end-of-year tax accounting processes.

Compliance and Operations (for more experienced candidates):

Collaborate with a compliance consultant for SEC filings.

Ensure the team adheres to the code of ethics.

Oversee quarterly attestations and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Taxation Expertise: Knowledge of partnership taxation and book-tax differences.

Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to the unique commodities sector, especially carbon permits.

Growth Potential: Capability to advance into a CFO role, effectively managing finance and operations.

Accounting Proficiency: Strong understanding of accounting principles, partnership taxation, and financial analysis.

Financial Reporting: Experience in financial reporting, tax accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

Certification: CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
