Our client, an innovative travel and hospitality SaaS technology company, is seeking an immediate need for a PERL engineer to join their fun and dynamic team.
You will work on their highly distributed application API, which currently serves thousands of hotels and hostels around the world. Working in a small but growing team of engineers, you will manage integrations for new and existing partner connections, provide developer support for their APIs, and contribute to the core system.This will be a fully remote, direct-hire position and per client’s requirements, applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or have a valid request for a medical or religious exemption. What You Will Do:- Develop and maintain connections to third-party APIs.
- Write unit and integration tests for your code.
- Own parts of the application and provide support for them.
- Communicate with API partners.
- Investigate and fix bugs reported by customers.
- Review other engineer’s code and provide feedback.
- Contribute to and enhance the core application.
- 4+ years programming with Perl.
- 4+ years of experience with MySQL or Postgres.
- 4+ years experience with Linux.
- In-depth experience integrating with third-party restful APIs having XML and JSON formats.
- Advanced skills programming in Perl.
- Ability to work remotely and manage your own time.
- Ability to work and communicate well in a small and remote team environment.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Proficient using Git.
