Senior Scrum Master
6 Month Contract, potential to extend or convert 100% Remote PST Hours Our Sr. IT Scrum Master leads our scrum teams through the delivery of software product deliveries. This role supports software product development teams delivering on critical business initiatives. Our ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be process-driven, inquisitive, and be able to pick up new knowledge and skills independently. Leveraging agile methodologies and more specifically a scrum framework, this role encompasses the following responsibilities:- Lead the scrum team(s) using Agile methodologies and scrum best practices
- Organize and lead effective scrum ceremonies including daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Partner with Product Owners and Software Development teams to achieve business objectives
- Includes assisting with refining and maintaining product backlog, as needed
- Where necessary, help the Product Owner manage customer expectations and stakeholder communications
- Act as a liaison between the team and others, minimizing interruptions to the sprint, keeping the team focused on delivering a quality product
- Plan and execute within the commitments and roadmap developed
- Coach the team through maturity of agile and scrum processes, improving delivery and confidence in commitments
- Grow a safe and trusting team environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment with an emphasis on problem solving
- Identify, understand, and track impediments; help remove them and drive improvements to optimize how the team works
- Communication to all levels of the organization on progress and status
- Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
- Skilled in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and coach high-performing software development teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously without impact to quality of work
- Experience being on Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes/organizations/cultures)
- Demonstrated experience in issue identification and resolution
- Moderate to expert-level knowledge of JIRA and other agile tools to measure team productivity and report metrics
- Must possess and utilize exceptional communication skills to keep teams operating at maximum efficiency while also insuring senior leaders and executive management are informed of progress at all times
