Summary of Job Details

The UCSB Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) College Site Coordinator (CSC) is an active member of a dynamic, high production pre-college academic preparation program. Under the cooperative direction of the UCSB EAOP Assistant Director and the Isbell Middle School Principal, facilitates and delivers comprehensive pre-college academic preparation services and programs to students and parents in the SPUSD middle school and elementary schools in an effort to increase college readiness, academic preparation, UC-CSU eligibility potential, and generally improve overall higher education participation rates. Assists students in identifying career and post-secondary goals with a focus on UC-CSU eligibility. Provides ongoing guidance in the areas of course enrollment matters, college admission requirements, financial aid awareness, study skills, testing strategies, and student academic success. Is the "point of contact" between the middle schools and their feeder high school's associated EAOP CSC and various pre-college academic preparation programs. Supports the 8th to 9th grade transition process and placement into support programs. Assists in the coordination of school-site visitations by college outreach personnel, scheduling guest speakers, and collaborates with middle school staff in coordinating college advisement and study skill workshops students and their parents. Conducts ongoing college information and planning sessions/workshops for students, parents, and school staff. Provides community outreach to ensure that students receive adequate and appropriate information on academic opportunities. Assists in the development and delivery of professional development for teachers and other school stakeholders in relation to the four systems of California higher education and State and Federal financial aid. Attends workshops and professional development conferences.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

1-3 years Knowledge and understanding of K-14 education

Knowledge of high education institutions (UC, CSU, CC etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents and school representatives.

Thorough knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements.

Special Conditions of Employment

This is a career position with an end date of one year after the date of hire. Continued employment based on year to year funding continuation.

Satisfactory criminal history background check

Mandated Child Abuse Reporter

Must maintain a valid CA driver’s license, a clean DMV record and enrollment in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program

District may require Tuberculosis test

Frequent travel within Santa Barbara County and Ventura County.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, evenings and weekend hours as required.
