Santa Barbara Community Housing Corporation (SBCHC) is looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Technician II to maintain our properties in Santa Barbara, Los Alamos, Buellton, Lompoc and Carpinteria, CA Individuals must be open to taking after-hour calls and completing emergency repairs.
SBCHC serves low income working families, seniors, veterans and the formerly homeless.
This is a full time position (40 hours per week, 5 days per week).

Responsibilities
Daily Maintenance Responsibilities
Review all work orders on a daily basis through the Yardi system and make repairs for tenant after notification of entry if the repair does not require an outside vendor.
Maintain parts and supplies inventory and order necessary parts, appliances, etc.
Complete periodic inspections of units in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.
Be present at various inspections and prepare inspection reports as requested.
Conduct preventative maintenance for building systems and equipment.
Notify the Property Manager of any tenant violations.
Other tasks as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
Proactively address issues and identify needed repairs; make recommendations to Maintenance Manager.
As necessary, provide directions to Maintenance Technician I.
Specialized Responsibilities
Specialized work across a portfolio in one of the following: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or appliance repair.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor in training of Maintenance Technicians I.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years maintenance or construction experience required.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Yardi or similar work order software experience required.
Experience working with vendors desired.
Microsoft Office and general computer proficiency required.
Ability to receive certification within 6 months in one of the following specialties: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or appliance repair. Certification can be obtained through SBCHC’s education reimbursement program.
Ability to operate light equipment and hand tools used in maintenance and repair required.
Clean DMV print-out required with application.
Valid CA driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk 7-8 hours daily, bend, squat, reach.
Willing to travel to different properties for coverage, after hour calls, and emergency repairs.
Starting Compensation Range: $23.00-$30.00 an hour (final salary or hourly rate will be determined based on experience and skills)
