We feature inspiring people, destinations, and brands through editorial storytelling and live-linked digital features that connect readers directly with businesses they love.
We’re currently producing a special Santa Barbara “Travel in Style” issue and are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Brand Liaison to help invite local businesses for partnerships and paid media features.
Role Overview
This is a part-time, independent contractor position (approx. 10 hours per week) ideal for someone who loves connecting with people, has an eye for style and storytelling, and wants to be part of Santa Barbara’s creative and hospitality community.
You’ll help research and reach out to restaurants, boutiques, hotels, wineries, wellness brands, and other local businesses to be featured in the magazine.
Compensation
$20/hour starting rate
20% commission on any paid placements you close
Flexible schedule (some weekdays preferred for communication with brands)
Occasional brand-sponsored experiences (meals, events, etc.) — not hourly paid, but a fun perk!
Key Responsibilities:
Research potential brand partners: restaurants, boutiques, hotels, wineries, and wellness companies
Build and organize contact lists (name, email, phone, website, Instagram handle, etc.)
Send outreach emails and DMs inviting brands to be featured in LEFAIR
Track outreach, follow-ups, and sales progress
Close sales by coordinating contracts and securing signatures
Contribute ideas to improve sales and partnership strategies
Occasionally attend or participate in brand experiences for social and editorial content (optional but encouraged!)
Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional, reliable, friendly, and organized
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Interest in fashion, travel, food, or lifestyle media is a plus
Based in Santa Barbara preferred
Must have an iphone for best communication
