General Summary
This role is responsible for safely drilling, shot layout, shot loading, magazine maintenance, and complying with all regulations. Additionally, the candidate may be expected to work at the associated rock plant or asphalt plant as needed.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Production drilling for approximately 900 hours per year.
Loading shots approximately 300 hours per year
Rock plant and asphalt clean up and/or maintenance as needed up to 800 hours per year
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Experience operating an Atlas Copco or D7 or similar drill.
Blasting license from the State of California
Certificate of Eligibility from the State of California
Ability to become an Authorized User as determined by the ATFE
Work Experience
4 years of experience blasting at a mine site
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift and use body to perform physical labor. The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. At times will be working around large construction equipment and in the presence of public traffic, must be safety conscience.
