Job Description:

The Fleet Manager Assistant will work closely with the Fleet Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the company’s fleet, which includes heavy-duty equipment and vehicles used in paving and asphalt maintenance. This role involves assisting in the coordination, maintenance, and administration of the fleet, as well as supporting the overall logistics and transportation needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in scheduling and dispatching vehicles and equipment for daily projects

Track and monitor vehicle and equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules

Coordinate repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance for heavy-duty equipment

Maintain accurate records of all fleet activities, including driver logs, equipment service records, and maintenance logs

Assist in the management of vehicle and equipment registration, licensing, and insurance

Support the Fleet Manager in developing strategies to optimize fleet efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Prepare reports on fleet performance and compliance with company policies

Qualifications:

Previous experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field is preferred

Must have working knowledge of software-based maintenance systems

Must have knowledge of heavy-duty equipment, especially related to paving and asphalt maintenance (skid steers, rollers, pavers etc.)

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and fleet management software (a plus)

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Valid driver’s license
