A CNC Countertop Machine Operator
Sets up and operates computer-controlled machines to cut, shape, and finish stone and solid surface materials according to drafting software and specifications. Key responsibilities include machine operation, reading technical drawings, quality control checks, routine maintenance, and ensuring a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
Machine operation: Safely set up, adjust, and operate CNC machines like saws and routers to fabricate countertops, vanities, and other custom pieces.
Reading and interpreting plans: Accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, templates, and work orders to ensure pieces are fabricated to exact specifications.
Quality control: Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality, accuracy, and defects, using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
Maintenance and troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, tool changes, and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaboration: Work with team members, including fabricators and installers, to ensure timely and accurate production and customer satisfaction.
Safety and cleanliness: Follow all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Help loading, moving and unloading slabs of granite around the yard through the operation of a forklift.
General clean up of area
Required skills and qualifications:
Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files preferred
Computer literacy
Strong attention to detail for precise fabrication and quality control.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues
Physical ability to handle materials and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift 80+ pounds occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently and 10 pounds continuously to move objects
Requires the ability to walk, stand, and sit sometimes for extended periods of time in a loud and wet environment.
Requires sufficient good health to perform duties
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members.
