Job Summary

We’re thrilled to continue growing our dynamic team of student-centered educators at John Muir Charter School’s North Bay Area sites, with a 1.0 FTE Special Education Resource Specialist Itinerant position.

Our Nevada County Superintendent of Schools (NCSoS), Special Education teammates enjoy collaborative partnerships with our John Muir Charter School (JMCS) team, in order to provide meaningful services and supports to John Muir students who qualify for an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Through an itinerant model, this position will provide in-person services to students at our Northbay JMCS sites: Santa Rosa, San Rafael, Richmond, S.F., and potentially, Ukiah, and also has the potential of supporting students at other JMCS sites, virtually. Typically, we support students in middle and high school. In addition to receiving academic instruction from John Muir Charter School, students participate in vocational training, counseling, and life skills development in a safe and affirming environment. Our team is committed to leading from a social-emotional and trauma-informed lens to meet each of our students where they are currently, while working to support their hopes and dreams. We enjoy working in comprehensive teams, comprised of General Education teachers, Special Education teachers, and related service providers.
