Pivotal Aero, LLC in Palo Alto, CA seeks Head of Aerostructures Manufacturing (multiple positions).
Responsibilities: The Head of Aerostructures Manufacturing is responsible for managing and oversight of manufacturing operations, facilities, and personnel to manufacture proprietary aircraft and ensure that production goals are met. Specific responsibilities include: Managing implementation and use of all manufacturing materials, components, fixtures, and tools related to the aircraft’s composite aerostructure, final assembly, and integration; Analyzing manufacturing and production issues to develop lean solutions to expand capacity and improve quality; Leading composite structure manufacturing engineering, process development, and final qualification; Hiring, providing mentorship, and ensuring appropriate training and qualification of all manufacturing personnel assigned to aerostructure fabrication and assembly; Collaborating with the engineering team to implement design for manufacturing and cost; Developing budgets and capital plans to support production; Developing supply chain and sub-contracting to external suppliers; and other duties as assigned. This position supervises twenty (20) cross-functional reports.
Education: Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 3 years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements: 3 years of experience in composite part manufacturing and supply chain management in the aircraft industry; 3 years of experience defining the manufacturing process in the aircraft industry; 3 years of experience working with data-driven business planning tools such as product lifecycle management (PLM) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; 3 years of experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar; and 3 years of experience supervising and managing engineering teams.
