We currently have an immediate need for a Farmers Market Sales Associate. Market days include load in at our factory in San Rafael anywhere between 5:30 am and 6:30 am depending on market assigned, driving to markets (North Bay, East Bay, or SF), setup, sales and operation, tear down, driving back to the shop, and end-of-day breakdown at the factory. Sales associates work independently once they have completed their training. Most workdays are complete by 4 pm or so.
Mill Valley Pasta Co. is a small but rapidly growing artisan pasta company located in the North Bay in San Rafael We currently sell our pasta at 7 different farmers markets, online, through a few dozen retailers, at our small factory store, and at our new retail store in Downtown Mill Valley.
Applicants must have a valid and clean US driver’s license with no moving violations in the last two years, and be comfortable driving a commercial cargo van. Applicants should speak fluent and conversational English, and being bilingual is a huge plus. Shifts start as early as 5:30-6:30 am (depending on which market you’re working) at the factory store in San Rafael. Most shifts are 8-10 hours, and as the job is on the books, there is overtime paid for hours worked more than 40 in a week or 8 in a day. Applicants should be able to lift 40-50 lbs several times a day and drag coolers that may be up to 75 lbs (or be willing to ask the kind folks at the tent next to you to help you out, which they always do!).
Pay for this position is $24/hour. Market Sales Associates are also given a weekly personal pasta allowance, daily market barter allowance, and at least 2 sales bonus opportunities each day.
