Eligibility Specialists interview clients to obtain and evaluate personal information to determine eligibility for benefits, including Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and other health insurance programs. ES I's continually adapt and respond to the regulatory requirement changes within the public assistance system. These positions may be assigned to a high-volume call center environment.
The ideal candidates for ES I positions will possess:
The interpersonal skills necessary to interact with, obtain information from, and provide support to clients who are in stressful life situations
Proficient computer skills to navigate department-specific software, perform data entry, and use the internet
Initiative, and the ability to use multiple resources to provide answers and support to clients
Problem-solving skills with the ability to apply solution-oriented critical thinking to their daily work
An aptitude for accurately handling a large volume of case records and documents
Excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to successfully meet regulatory deadlines
Clear and effective oral and written communication abilities
