Sonoma Water is currently recruiting to fill a position at either the I or II level, depending upon qualifications. If you are interested in applying at either level of this opportunity, you must submit a separate application to the recruitment currently being conducted for that level.
As a Water Agency Sanitation Engineer, you will learn the steps to ensure new collection system connections comply with adopted Sanitation Code and Design Standards. Additional duties involved in the position may include:
Collection system records research
Assisting Water Agency survey and right-of-way staff in securing Sewer Dedication and Easement Agreements
Coordinating with Permit Sonoma to ensure compliance with applicable local sanitation codes and standards
Evaluating collection system capacity needs and coordinating customized sanitation conditions for proposed projects
Coordinating with Permit Sonoma and LAFCO for annexations and outside service area agreements
Reviewing collection system connection designs for main sewer extensions, private mains, and laterals and reviewing capacity studies
Preparing Sanitation Code variances and assisting in development of new Sanitation Codes and Design Standards
Reviewing as-builts and video inspections of applicant-completed projects and records management
Preparing project reports and documents, including budget analysis, cost estimates, schedules, and recommendations for solutions
Interacting with regulatory agencies and outside entities along with other engineering disciplines
Assisting in development of Capital Infrastructure Projects for water and wastewater facilities
